Is grid balancing immediately active after purchasing FlexiO?
No, grid balancing requires various evaluations from multiple authorities (Fluvius, LIFEPOWR, Elia). It takes an average of up to 12 weeks before your FlexiObox can participate. FlexiO does start from day 1 with savings on your energy bill. During the evaluation period, FlexiO already works smartly for local savings, only the grid balancing earnings are not yet active.
My FlexiObox power adapter is defective after a power outage
This can happen after power interruptions.
Solution:
1. Check if your power supply is still under warranty (2 years)
2. Contact us via the contact form at lifepowr.io and include your address details
3. If under warranty, we will send you a new, improved adapter for free
Tip: During a planned power outage, disconnect the adapter beforehand to prevent damage.
What does a FlexiO subscription cost?
Check current prices at lifepowr.io/pricing. Partners may offer promotions. Standard: monthly subscription, pays for itself through savings + grid balancing.
What do the symbols on the real-time mean?
The MyFlexiO app uses intuitive icons to show you what's happening with your energy in real time:
Grid

• ↑ Arrow up — You're exporting energy to the grid
• ↓ Arrow down — You're importing energy from the grid
Battery

• ↑ Arrow up — Battery is discharging (powering your home)
• ↓ Arrow down — Battery is charging
Other indicators

• Percentage (%) — State of Charge (SoC): how full your battery is
• Calendar icon with Watt — Your current monthly peak power draw, used for calculating your capacity tariff
What if my charger is not compatible with FlexiO?
Non-compatible chargers also work with FlexiO! The charger is then seen as a 'large consumer'. FlexiO learns your charging patterns over time and takes this into account for battery control and peak avoidance. You do miss direct control (smart charging during cheap hours), but the EMS+ functions normally.
What is FlexiO and how does it work?
FlexiO is a Smart Energy Management System (EMS+) that intelligently controls your charging station and home battery to minimise energy costs. It communicates with inverter, digital meter and charging station, and retrieves energy prices and weather forecasts from the cloud. FlexiO uses AI and algorithms to determine the optimal situation for your energy system.
What is 'Ready for participation' in grid balancing?
'Ready for participation' means your installation has been fully approved and can actively participate in grid balancing.

What this means:
- Your battery can be deployed for grid stability
- You're already generating earnings (even if not always shown immediately in the app)
- FlexiO automatically chooses when participation is economically beneficial

Participation is not continuous:
- FlexiO optimises globally - you don't always participate, even if you could
- Sometimes local savings are more valuable than grid balancing
- FlexiO finds the right balance between savings and grid balancing earnings

Payout:
Earnings are paid out ~3 months after the period in which they were generated.
When are my grid balancing earnings paid out?
Grid balancing earnings are paid out monthly, but with a 3-month delay.

Example:
- Earnings from April → payout in July
- Earnings from May → payout in August

Why the delay?
LIFEPOWR itself is only paid by Elia (the grid operator) after 3 months. Once we receive the compensation, your share is transferred.

Where can I see this?
Via the MyFlexiO app you can track your grid balancing earnings under the 'Earnings' tab.
Which dynamic energy suppliers are compatible?
FlexiO is compatible with several dynamic energy suppliers, including Engie Dynamic, Bolt, Luminus, Eneco, Frank Energie, Energy Knights (ePOWR tariff), Ecopower, energie.be, and Trevion (ePOWR tariff). After switching suppliers, make sure to select the correct tariff in the MyFlexiO app under Settings.
Why does the app show 0W solar production while the sun is shining?
When your solar inverter is a different system than your battery inverter, solar production is sometimes calculated instead of directly measured. If your consumption is temporarily higher than production, the calculated value may show 0W while there is actually production. The energy is not lost but consumed by your household! For exact measurements, you can have a separate meter installed (e.g., HomeWizard Eastron), but this is not necessary for correct FlexiO operation.
