What is the difference between FlexiO and other EMS systems?
FlexiO: focus on financial optimisation. Other EMS often focus only on self-consumption. FlexiO combines local savings on your energy bill + extra income from grid balancing services, making the best financial choice for you, without any hassle or losing your comfort.
What is the difference between rPOWR and ePOWR?
FlexiO offers two forms of grid balancing:

rPOWR (FCR - Frequency Containment Reserve)
- Your battery helps stabilize the electricity grid
- You are paid for keeping capacity available
- Payout via LIFEPOWR (3 months delay)
- Available for all FlexiO users with a suitable installation

ePOWR (energy trading)
- Active energy trading on the market
- Requires a compatible ePOWR tariff (e.g., via Trevion or Energy Knights)
- Earnings are directly settled on your energy bill
- Higher potential returns

Tip: With the ePOWR tariff, you combine both forms of grid balancing for maximum returns.
What is the difference between the ePOWR tariff and a regular dynamic contract?
Regular dynamic contract (e.g., Engie Dynamic, Luminus Dynamic):
- Quarterly or hourly prices based on EPEX spot market
- FlexiO optimizes your battery on these prices
- Standard savings on energy bill

ePOWR tariff (available via Trevion, Energy Knights):
- Also dynamic quarterly or hourly prices
- Plus: access to ePOWR (trading energy on the market)
- Combination of rPOWR AND ePOWR possible
- Faster payout: included in your monthly energy bill instead of 3 months later

The ePOWR tariff is therefore a dynamic tariff with extra benefits, especially for FlexiO users.
What is the price of a FlexiObox?
The pricing of the flexiobox depends on the specific installation requirements (working hours, travel costs, additional accessories required,..) ask your installer for a quotation.

FlexiO comes with a monthly subscription fee: €9.95/month for battery and optitional EV. Every FlexiObox includes 1 year free subscription — partners may offer additional free months or years on top of this.
What to do after a power outage - FlexiObox no longer works?
After a power outage, the FlexiObox may not restart automatically or the power supply may be damaged.

Steps to try:
1. Check if the green light is on
2. Unplug the power and wait 10 seconds
3. Plug the power back in
4. Wait a few minutes for the box to start up

If the box doesn't start:
- Test with a different USB-C cable and adapter
- If this works, the original power supply is probably broken

Defective power supply or FlexiObox:
Contact LIFEPOWR support - they can send a new power supply or FlexiObox within the warranty period (2 years for accessories, 5 years for the FlexiObox).
When should I switch to a ePOWR contract?
Switch to a ePOWR contract as soon as your hardware setup is fully in order (FlexiObox installed and configured).

Tips:
• The big difference is mainly noticeable in winter when price differences are larger
• So you still have some time if you install in summer
• Request the switch from your supplier (usually takes 1+ month)

FlexiO works with fixed, variable, dynamic, and ePOWR tariffs, but ePOWR tariffs get the most out of your installation.
Which energy suppliers offer an ePOWR tariff?
Currently, these suppliers offer an ePOWR tariff:

1) Trevion (LIFEPOWR by Trevion)
2) Energy Knights

More suppliers may follow in the future. LIFEPOWR is in discussions with other parties such as Ecopower, but there are no concrete agreements yet.

What is an ePOWR tariff?
A dynamic tariff that is cheaper than standard dynamic, with built-in ePOWR participation. Every FlexiObox includes 1 year free FlexiO subscription — partners may offer additional free months or years on top of this.

Why does FlexiO inject to the grid at €0 or negative prices?
This seems counter-intuitive, but is often economically logical! At negative prices, FlexiO may still inject for grid balancing (rPOWR). The reason: the income from capacity reservation is higher than the 'cost' of injection at negative prices. FlexiO continuously makes this trade-off. At €0 prices, you still pay taxes/levies on consumption, so injection can be more advantageous. If you make any costs due grid balancing, these costs are reimbursed by LIFEPOWR.
Why does grid balancing still show 'In evaluation' while I received an email about participation?
There can be a short delay between sending the email and the update in the app. Normally this syncs within 24-48 hours. If the status hasn't updated after a few days, please contact support.
Why does my savings amount differ from the simulator?
The simulator provides an estimate based on averages. Your actual savings depend on several factors, including your consumption pattern, tariff structure, weather conditions, battery capacity, and the season. For an accurate picture, look at trends over several months rather than individual periods.
