What battery capacity is ideal for FlexiO?
Your ideal battery capacity is 1 to 1.5 × your daily consumption; with a daily consumption of about 11 kWh we recommend a battery of 10–15 kWh. You can compare different options and get an exact calculation using the simulation tool on our website. For more information about sizing your system, you should contact your installer.
What if I switch energy suppliers?
As soon as your new energy contract is active, update the tariff in the MyFlexiO app under Settings > FlexiObox > Energy tariff. There's no need to restart FlexiO. Note that your EAN code stays the same when switching suppliers.
Where can I watch webinar recordings?
Webinar recordings are available at lifepowr.io/webinars, or through the email link you receive after registration. Topics covered include app explanation, maximising savings, grid balancing, and EV charging.
Can FlexiO increase my monthly peak through grid balancing?
Yes, grid balancing can temporarily increase your monthly peak. FlexiO makes an economic trade‑off and if the revenue from grid balancing is higher than the extra cost of a higher peak, the peak is increased. At the end of the year the average monthly peak is recalculated, so the final costs are often lower.
Can I choose how much battery capacity I reserve for grid balancing?
No, you don't need to do anything - FlexiO handles this completely automatically. No fixed percentage is reserved. FlexiO constantly weighs whether grid balancing is more profitable than savings, taking battery degradation into account. Sometimes nothing is reserved (lots of sun), sometimes almost the entire battery (winter night). FlexiO continuously optimises to achieve maximum benefit.
Can I get my invoice under a company name/VAT number?
Yes, this has been possible since 2025. Contact support with your company details (name, address, and VAT number). Grid balancing income is handled via 'self billing', which means the invoice is issued in your company name. Can I see day-ahead prices in the MyFlexiO app?
No, the MyFlexiO app does not show day-ahead prices. This is a deliberate choice: FlexiO is designed to take the worry away. The goal is for you to trust the algorithm and not worry about price fluctuations. The app does show your savings and (later) your grid balancing earnings.
Can I see my consumption history in the app?
Yes, the MyFlexiO app shows live data under Real-time, and you can view historical data by day, week, month, or year.
Can I use FlexiO via WiFi instead of a wired Ethernet connection?
No, FlexiO only works reliably with a wired Ethernet connection. A wired connection provides a more stable long‑term connection, fewer offline problems, and better data transfer for optimal control. We therefore recommend installing all devices (FlexiObox, inverter, P1‑meter) with wired connections and not using powerline solutions.
Can I use my Alfen charger with an employer badge together with FlexiO?
Yes, you can use the Alfen charger with both your employer badge and FlexiO. Make sure the charger is on the same network and subnet as FlexiO, that the load‑balancing option is activated, and that the ‘data source’ is set to ‘Energy Management system’. The badge function will continue to work via the SIM‑card module.
