What do you need to get started with a Flex Tariff?

You already have solar panels and a home battery. And you want to get even more out of your installation?

Then a Flex Tariff is exactly what you're looking for.

With this dynamic energy tariff, developed in collaboration with energy suppliers, you can save even more on your energy bill. But what exactly do you need to get started?

1. A digital meter

The Flex Tariff works on the basis of hourly rates and real-time control.

A digital meter is therefore crucial. It measures how much electricity you consume or inject every 15 minutes.

Good news: most households in Flanders already have such a meter. Don't have one yet? Request one free of charge via Fluvius.

2. A home battery

To really benefit from the Flex Tariff, a flexible installation is important.

Do you have a home battery or a hybrid inverter that can be controlled? Then you're all set.

Why? Because the system only really pays off when it can shift energy over time: charging when it's cheap, discharging when it pays off.

So you need at least one of these installations:

• Home battery (compatible with FlexiO)
• Hybrid inverter (with curtailment support)

Your installer can check whether your existing systems are compatible, or you can check for yourself on our compatibility list.

3. A FlexiObox from LIFEPOWR

The FlexiObox is the smart link between your installation, the energy supplier, and the electricity grid.

This smart EMS+ ensures that your installation is automatically controlled according to:

• solar production
• consumption profile
• real-time market signals

4. A Flex Tariff
